Instrumentation fittings, valves and tubing don't answer to just one standard. Material properties fall under ASTM. Dimensions and design follow ASME and API codes. For sour service, NACE and ISO standards take over. Fugitive emissions get their own rulebook, ISO 15848. Cleanliness is spelled out in ASTM G93 and CGA G4.1. Sanitary work follows 3-A and ASME BPE. Regional jobs often call out NORSOK. Swapping parts across brands hinges on an interchange qualification, ASTM F1387 (F1387 for short). And traceability comes down to EN 10204. Material standards (ASTM) for stainless steel tubing, bar & forgings

Dimensional & design standards (ASME/API) for valves, threads & fittings

Dimensional and design standards fix pressure-temperature ratings, thread geometry and fitting envelopes. For valves, the governing basis is ASME B16.34 and the applicable API valve standards. The compression-fitting standard doesn't apply here; that one covers tube fittings only.

Crestflo builds its 37° flare fittings to ISO 8434-2 and also offers bite-type fittings on the DIN 2353 basis. Valve pressure-temperature ratings follow ASME B16.34, and DBB is rated per B16.34 as well. Flange standards like ASME B16.5 and B16.47 sit nearby but fall outside instrumentation scope: small-bore fittings connect by compression, socket-weld, NPT or flare, not flanged joints. Ratings follow whichever standard applies and can be tailored to what's needed.

Sour-service, emissions & regional standards (NACE, ISO, NORSOK)

For H₂S, offshore and North Sea service, material and qualification standards stack on top of the base specification. Crestflo supplies fittings, valves and manifolds to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 requirements where sour service is called for, in the appropriate alloys.

Cleanliness & sanitary standards (ASTM G93, CGA G4.1, 3-A, ASME BPE)

Interchange & traceability standards (ASTM F1387, EN 10204)

What is an instrumentation fitting?

A small-bore, high-integrity connector, typically a single- or double-ferrule compression tube fitting, used on instrument, sampling and analyzer lines. It differs from large-bore process piping, and that's exactly why instrumentation has its own material, dimensional and interchange standards.

How do I identify a fitting size?

Instrumentation fittings are sized by tube outside diameter (OD), in imperial or metric, not by pipe NPS. Crestflo supplies both up to 2" (50 mm) OD. See the tube-fitting size chart.

What are common specifying mistakes?

Calling out the wrong material spec for the media, mixing incompatible thread standards, picking an alloy that fails NACE for sour service, accepting parts with no heat-number traceability: these mistakes happen. The standards mapped on this hub prevent each one, including PED cases.

Which standard covers oxygen or UHP cleanliness?
