Aerospace & Defense Instrumentation Fittings, Valves & Tubing
Aerospace and defense instrumentation fittings aren't one single part. They're small-bore tube fittings, valves, manifolds, regulators and tubing, the pieces that carry hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, propellant, cryogenic and instrument fluids through the ground, test and support systems used to build, qualify and sustain aircraft, engines, launch vehicles and defense platforms.
Crestflo supplies these components in stainless steel and high-performance alloys for aerospace and defense fluid, hydraulic, pneumatic and test systems: engine-test cells, environmental and thermal-vacuum test chambers, ground support equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic benches, rocket propellant and cryogenic test rigs, and analytical sampling loops. Each part comes with a heat/lot number and a material test certificate. No exceptions. Standard items ship from stock, while specials are made to order, with delivery running 6–8 weeks.
Also Known As: Aerospace Tube Fittings, Aircraft Fluid Fittings & Defense Instrumentation Valves
Procurement and design teams across the sector specify this hardware under many names. Drawings and RFQs list the same instrumentation components as aerospace fittings, aerospace tube fittings, aerospace compression fittings, aerospace fluid fittings, aircraft tube fittings, aircraft hydraulic tube fittings, aerospace hydraulic fittings, and aerospace instrumentation valves. You'll also see them called defense instrumentation fittings, military tube fittings, aerospace-grade and aircraft-grade fittings, or simply aerospace tubing.
One point needs to be clear from the start: these are instrumentation and fluid-system components meant for ground, test and support systems. They aren't flight-critical AN/MS airframe flare hardware. AN® and MS fittings, along with the Dynatube® separable-flare family, count as distinct MIL-spec airframe hardware. Crestflo doesn't supply flight-article AN/MS or Dynatube® parts, and it makes no claim to AS9100 or Nadcap flight qualification. What Crestflo does supply comes under an ISO 9001 quality system, with full material traceability for the fluid, test and ground systems covered here.

Alloys for Aerospace & Defense Service: 316L, Titanium Gr2, Inconel 625/718, Monel & AL-6XN
Alloy choice comes down to the service condition: temperature, pressure, how aggressive the media is, weight, corrosion exposure. Crestflo builds instrumentation fittings, valves and tubing across stainless, duplex, nickel and titanium. The UNS designations listed below are the standard published values for each grade.
| Alloy | UNS | Why it suits aerospace/defense service | Learn more |
|---|---|---|---|
| 316 / 316L stainless | S31600 / S31603 | Default instrumentation grade; broad chemical and cryogenic suitability | 316/316L |
| Titanium Gr2 | R50400 | Lightweight, high strength-to-weight, corrosion resistance | Titanium Gr2 |
| Inconel 625 | N06625 | High-temperature strength and oxidation resistance for engine test | Inconel 625 |
| Inconel 718 | N07718 | Very high strength at elevated temperature, fatigue resistance | Inconel 718 |
| Monel 400 | N04400 | Propellant and salt-water/aggressive-media compatibility | Monel 400 |
| Hastelloy C-276 | N10276 | Aggressive-media and propellant service resistance | Hastelloy C-276 |
| AL-6XN (6Mo) | N08367 | 6Mo super-austenitic grade; chloride/salt-fog resistance for naval and marine defense | AL-6XN |
| Super Duplex 2507 | S32750 | High strength plus chloride pitting resistance | Super Duplex 2507 |
316L is the go-to choice for general instrumentation, as a rule of thumb. Titanium Gr2 covers weight and corrosion concerns, while Inconel 625/718 takes on high-temperature engine testing and high-strength jobs. Monel and Hastelloy handle propellant and other aggressive media. For salt fog resistance on naval and ground-defense systems, engineers turn to AL-6XN (the 6Mo super-austenitic grade) or Super Duplex 2507. The titanium vs stainless steel guide walks through the two most common trade-offs. Crestflo teaches the ins and outs of each grade but supplies it only in instrumentation forms: fittings, valves and tubing. Not bar, sheet, plate or mill product.

Standards, Testing & Traceability for Aerospace & Defense Instrumentation
Compression tube fittings are performance-qualified to ASTM F1387, which sets the dimensional and performance basis for drop-in interchange with the major brands. Instrumentation valves qualify differently. They meet the applicable valve standards, ASME B16.34 and the relevant API pressure and seat-leak tests, rather than F1387, since that standard covers compression fittings, not valves. Materials conform to the standard tube, bar and forging specifications. Every part carries traceability.
| Standard / cert | What it covers | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| ASTM F1387 | Performance of compression tube fittings | Fittings |
| ASTM A269 / A479 / A276 | Tube, bar & shapes for the alloy grades | Fittings, valves, tubing |
| ASME B16.34 | Valve pressure-temperature ratings | Valves, manifolds, DBB |
| ASME B1.20.1 | NPT threads | Threaded connections |
| ISO 8434-2 | 37° flare (JIC) connections | Flare fittings |
| NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 | Sour-service material limits | Alloy selection where applicable |
| EN 10204 MTC 3.1 / 3.2 | Material test certification | All parts |
Crestflo holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and PED certification, along with the standard approvals that apply to each product type. Testing spans hydraulic proof, burst and impulse, pneumatic, flexure fatigue, rotary flex, vibration, thermal cycling, pull-out and vacuum. Manifolds also get PMI and 100% seat-and-shell leak testing. Non-destructive testing happens in-house. Destructive testing, by contrast, is carried out at ISO/IEC 17025-accredited labs, and third-party inspection can be arranged on request. Each part carries a heat/lot mark and ships with EN 10204 MTC 3.1 as standard, with 3.2 available on request, see traceability. Datasheets and CAD files are available to customers on request.
Origin, Interchange & TAA/DFARS Considerations
Standard product comes from Indian origin, though US or European melt is available on request, with full material traceability from start to finish. Programs that need domestic-melt or TAA/DFARS handling can draw on melt-source options as a capability, laid out plainly on US-origin compliance rather than sold as a blanket "made in USA" claim. When a program calls out a competitor part, Crestflo delivers dimensional interchange backed by ASTM F1387. Ask the engineering team for your Swagelok®, Parker®, Hoke® or Hy-Lok® cross-reference through the cross-reference desk. Trademarks belong to their respective owners, and Crestflo isn't affiliated with them.
Why Crestflo for Aerospace & Defense Instrumentation
Crestflo makes and supplies aerospace and defense instrumentation fittings for US customers. It's the instrumentation arm of an export house recognized by the Government of India for four decades running, with a proven delivery record across the Middle East and engineering depth behind a brand built specifically for instrumentation. For aerospace and defense buyers, that background pays off in concrete ways. Parts are ASTM F1387-qualified drop-in replacements matching what the major suppliers offer. The alloy range spans titanium, Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy and super-austenitic grades. Every part carries heat-number traceability with an EN 10204 MTC. NDT is done in-house; destructive testing and PMI go through ISO/IEC 17025 certification. Small minimum order quantities aren't a problem, and Crestflo takes on private-label work and made-to-print jobs as well. Origin and melt records get disclosed honestly, no exceptions. Standard items sit in ready stock, specials get made to order, and delivery runs 6-8 weeks against the 20-plus weeks typical of the majors.

Frequently Asked Questions
What instrumentation fittings and valves does Crestflo supply for aerospace and defense?
The lineup includes tube and compression fittings, both single and double ferrule, all ASTM F1387-qualified, along with 37° flare fittings and high-pressure cone-and-thread fittings. Add instrumentation valves in needle, ball, check, relief, metering and DBB types, 2/3/5-way manifolds, regulators and instrumentation tubing. Everything's made in stainless steel and high-performance alloys, built for ground, test, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Are these flight-certified or AS9100 / Nadcap approved?
Crestflo components cover instrumentation and fluid-system parts for ground, test, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. They're supplied under an ISO 9001 quality system, with full material traceability behind them. These aren't flight-article hardware, though, and Crestflo makes no claim to AS9100 or Nadcap flight-hardware qualification.
Are Crestflo fittings the same as AN or MS flare fittings?
Not AN and MS fittings are a different animal entirely. That's a MIL-spec airframe family built for flight-critical hardware. Crestflo, by contrast, supplies instrumentation and 37° flare (ISO 8434-2) fittings for fluid, test and ground systems. Flight-critical AN/MS airframe hardware isn't what we make.
Which alloys do you recommend for aerospace and defense service?
316 and 316L cover general instrumentation work fine; there's no need to overthink it. Where weight and corrosion resistance both matter, Titanium Gr2 takes over. For high-temperature engine testing and jobs that demand real strength, Inconel 625 or 718 does the job. Propellant lines and other aggressive media need something tougher: Monel 400 or Hastelloy C-276. Salt-fog exposure and naval-defense service, meanwhile, point to AL-6XN or Super Duplex 2507.
Are titanium and Inconel fittings available?
Yes. They're made in stainless steel, high-nickel alloys and titanium, up to 2" (50 mm) OD. For grade specifics and instrumentation forms, check the Titanium Gr2 and Inconel 625 material pages.
What pressures can your fittings handle?
Standards set the ceiling here: 15,000 psi for 37° flare fittings, 30,000 psi for high-pressure cone-and-thread fittings, and 10,000 psi for valve manifolds. Ratings aren't fixed, though. They can flex to match what you need, so confirm the certified rating for your part on the RFQ.
Do you provide material test certificates and traceability?
Yes. Every part carries a heat and lot mark and ships with an EN 10204 MTC 3.1 certificate as standard; 3.2 is available on request. For more detail, check the traceability page.
Can parts be oxygen or UHP cleaned for propellant and O₂ service?
Yep, electropolish, passivation and oxygen/UHP cleaning are all available for propellant and oxygen service. See oxygen/UHP cleaning for details.
Are these a drop-in replacement for Swagelok or Parker?
Yes. Crestflo fittings interchange dimensionally with Swagelok, Parker, Hoke, and Hy-Lok, backed by ASTM F1387 performance qualification. Ask the engineering team for a cross-reference. Those trademarks belong to their respective owners, and Crestflo isn't affiliated with any of them.
Are these TAA-compliant or made in the USA?
Standard product comes from India. US or European melt is available on request, with full material traceability behind it. Programs that need domestic melt or TAA/DFARS handling aren't left out: melt-source options are offered as a capability, laid out plainly on US-origin compliance rather than dressed up as "made in USA."
What is the lead time?
Ready stock covers standard items. Specials get made to order, and delivery runs 6–8 weeks, a stretch compared to the 20-plus weeks you'd wait with the major brands.
Do you offer private label or made-to-print for defense OEMs?
Yes. We handle small MOQs, private-label runs, and made-to-print work straight from your design documents. Check out the private-label program, or just send a print along with your RFQ.
