Semiconductor Fittings, Valves & Tubing: High-Purity Fluid Systems for US Fabs

Semiconductor Fittings, Valves & Tubing, High-Purity Fluid Systems for US Fabs

Semiconductor tube fittings, valves and tubing carry ultra-high-purity (UHP) process gases, specialty and corrosive gases, bulk gas, slurry, deionized water and wet-process chemicals through the gas-delivery and process-fluid systems of a wafer fab. These are contamination-controlled, high-purity parts, built for nothing less. Crestflo supplies this full building set to US semiconductor fabs, gas-panel fabricators and equipment OEMs: high-purity and orbital-weld fittings, VCR metal face-seal fittings, high-purity diaphragm valves and packless bellows-sealed valves, high-purity gas regulators and electropolished instrumentation tubing. All of it comes in 316/316L and the high-nickel alloys needed for corrosive halide gases, with electropolish and passivation finishing, heat-number traceability, and delivery in 6-8 weeks.

On this page, "semiconductor" refers to fab and wafer-fabrication fluid systems: ultra-high-purity process gas, specialty gas, bulk gas, slurry, DI water and wet-process chemical handling. It doesn't mean semiconductor devices, electronic components, or wire and electrical ferrules. And wherever "ferrule" shows up here, it's a fluid-system compression ferrule, not an electrical one.

Also Known As: High-Purity, UHP, VCR & Gas-Delivery Fittings

Crestflo sells these components under a single high-purity program, even though buyers and specs call them by a dozen different names. On a fab drawing or an RFQ, you might see them listed as semiconductor fittings, semiconductor pipe and fittings, high-purity fittings, high-purity tube fittings, ultra-high-purity (UHP) fittings, gas-delivery system fittings, gas-panel or gas-stick components, or gas-distribution fittings. Metal-gasket face-seal connections show up as VCR fittings or VCR face-seal fittings. Tubing gets called electropolished tubing, EP tubing, or 316L EP tubing. Welded connections carry the names orbital-weld fittings or orbital-weld tube fittings. Diaphragm valves and packless bellows-sealed valves round out the high-purity valve types.

Where Semiconductor Fittings, Valves & Tubing Are Used in a Fab

Wafer fabs run several distinct fluid systems, and each one comes with its own demands for cleanliness, corrosion resistance and leak integrity. Below, the table lines up the common fab systems against the in-scope Crestflo component and its alloy baseline, plus an upgrade path for corrosive service.

This is a supply program built to serve the US: standard items ship from ready stock, specials get made to order, and the specialty configurations a fab build typically needs come with a 6-8 week delivery window.

What "High Purity" Means for Semiconductor Fittings & Valves

Crestflo builds these fittings to the high-purity standards that apply, and finishes them with electropolish and passivation; helium and seat-leak testing are available on request. In a fab, "high purity" and "ultra-high purity" aren't marketing terms. They point to four things you can actually measure: a smooth internal surface that resists adsorption, low particle and moisture generation, resistance to corrosion from reactive process gases, and leak-tight seals that keep outside air out and process gas where it belongs.

Standard cleanliness targets aren't asserted as fixed catalog figures. They're specified against published industry references and then confirmed against your drawing. Standard UHP electropolished finishes land near ≤ 10 µin (0.25 µm) Ra. Tighter SF4/SF5/SF6 finishes are defined in ASME BPE, and cleanliness practice follows SEMI F19/F20. Specify your Ra, particle and moisture-dry-down target on the RFQ, and Crestflo will confirm the achievable finish for your parts. Values follow the applicable standard and can be adjusted to your requirement.

Alloy Selection for Corrosive & Specialty Semiconductor Gases

Process chemistry drives the alloy choice. 316L electropolished stainless, the low-carbon grade of 316, sets the high-purity baseline for inert and mildly reactive service. Corrosive halide and fluorine chemistries push the specification into high-nickel alloys instead. Composition, PREN and corrosion detail live on each material page. That's where the table gives the selection logic, with links to each.

Crestflo covers each grade in broad detail but supplies it only in instrumentation forms, fittings, valves and tubing, never as bar, sheet, plate or mill product. Anyone wanting a structured walk-through can check the high-purity semiconductor material selection guide.

Cleaning, Electropolish & Surface Control for UHP Service

Contamination control starts at the surface. Crestflo finishes semiconductor components through electropolish and passivation, and oxygen / UHP cleaning follows the applicable published protocols. We don't restate the cleaning method and its acceptance criteria as a proprietary number here; they're defined on the process and standard pages instead. See the oxygen / UHP cleaning process, with acceptance practice per ASTM G93 and CGA G4.1. On your RFQ, specify surface-finish, particle and moisture targets. Values follow the applicable standard and can be customized to what you need.

Standards & Conformance for Semiconductor Fluid Systems

Crestflo holds the standard approvals that apply to each product type. Fittings qualify to ASTM F1387 for dimensional-interchange performance. High-purity valves meet a stricter set: ASME B16.34, plus the applicable API valve standards. It's all laid out in the table below, along with the governing references and their standard pages.

Crestflo holds ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and PED certification, and the certificates themselves sit in the quality section. Values follow whichever standard applies, and they can be adjusted to what's needed.

Why Crestflo for Semiconductor Fittings, Valves & Tubing

Crestflo is the instrumentation division of a Government-of-India-recognized export house with four decades behind it and a proven delivery record across the Middle East. It now serves US fabs directly, operating as a US-serving manufacturer. Here's what actually matters to a fab or gas-panel buyer:

  • Delivery that matches your build schedule. Standard items ship from ready stock; specials get built to order. Expect 6-8 week delivery, not the 20-plus weeks that's typical from the majors.
  • Drop-in interchange, no guesswork. These fittings are dimensionally interchangeable and qualified to ASTM F1387. Ask our engineering team for a Swagelok® cross-reference instead of guessing part numbers. Swagelok® is a trademark of Swagelok Company; Crestflo isn't affiliated with it.
  • Real alloy depth. 316 and 316L, plus Hastelloy C-276/C-22, Monel 400, and Nickel 200/201, cover the full range of corrosive gas service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What fittings and valves are used in semiconductor fabs?

High-purity and orbital-weld tube fittings, VCR and VCO metal face-seal fittings, diaphragm and bellows (packless) valves, purge and metering valves, high-purity regulators, and electropolished tubing round out the line. All of it comes in 316/316L stainless and high-nickel alloys, including Hastelloy and Monel.

Does Crestflo make VCR face-seal fittings for high-purity gas?

Yes, VCR metal-gasket face-seal fittings and VCO O-ring face-seal fittings both fall within scope. The VCR face-seal product page has the ordering matrix and size detail.

Which alloy should I use for corrosive semiconductor gases like HCl or Cl₂?

316L electropolished stainless is the baseline choice. For halide and corrosive gases like HCl, HBr and Cl₂, go with Hastelloy C-276 or C-22 instead. Fluorine and HF service calls for Monel 400. Final selection depends on the application, though, so specify the gas and conditions on the RFQ.

Do you supply electropolished tubing?

Yes, electropolished (EP) stainless and alloy instrumentation tubing is available. Standard UHP EP targets sit at roughly ≤ 10 µin Ra, following SEMI/ASME BPE practice. Specify your Ra target on the RFQ, and we'll confirm the achievable finish for your parts.

Are the fittings cleaned for oxygen and UHP service?

Electropolish and passivation come as standard. Oxygen and UHP cleaning follow ASTM G93 and CGA G4.1. On the RFQ, spell out your acceptance criteria for particles, moisture and cleanliness; these aren't fixed figures, they follow the applicable standard and can be tailored to your requirement.

Do Crestflo semiconductor components conform to SEMI or ASME BPE?

We manufacture components to the relevant high-purity standards, including ASME BPE surface-finish references and SEMI F19/F20 cleanliness practice. You can set the target to your own specification. Just confirm the exact conformance you need on the RFQ, and our engineering team will tell you what's achievable for your parts.

Can Crestflo components replace Swagelok or Parker high-purity parts?

Fittings are dimensionally interchangeable and qualified to ASTM F1387. We call them interchange/equivalent, not "compatible" or "intermix," and Crestflo isn't affiliated with those brands. For a part-number cross-reference, reach out to our engineering team through the Swagelok cross-reference page.

What is the lead time for semiconductor components?

Ready stock for standard items, made-to-order for specials, and typically 6–8 week delivery, versus the 20-plus weeks common from the major brands.

Where are Crestflo components made and are they TAA-compliant?

Standard product comes from India, with full material traceability. US and European melt is available on request for jobs that call for domestic-melt or TAA-eligible material. For details, see Crestflo's country-of-origin & compliance note.

What traceability and testing do you provide?

A heat/lot number goes on every part, along with an EN 10204 MTC 3.1 (3.2 available on request), PMI, and in-house NDT. Destructive testing runs through ISO/IEC 17025 labs. Every manifold gets 100% seat and shell leak testing, and helium leak testing is available on request.

Do you offer private-label or OEM gas-panel programs?

Yes. Crestflo runs small-MOQ, private-label, kitting/VMI and made-to-print programs for gas-panel fabricators and equipment OEMs. Start with the private-label program, or head over to the OEM inquiry page.

Do you supply both imperial and metric sizes?
