Engineers and specifiers write out this pressure class in more than one way, though each points to the same working-pressure range. You might see 15,000 PSI, 15,000 psi, 15000 psi, 15k psi, or 15 000 psi. All the same number, just formatted differently. In metric terms it comes out to roughly 1,034 bar, often rounded to 1,000 bar in market phrasing, or about 103.4 MPa. On the oilfield side, the shorthand "15K" and the pump and flow-iron code "1502" sometimes get confused with this query, but they don't mean the same thing. Those terms describe pressure-control iron. This class, by contrast, covers instrumentation fittings and valves used on measurement and control lines.

What "15,000 PSI" Means: Working Pressure in Bar & MPa

15,000 PSI is a working-pressure rating: the maximum pressure the system can handle continuously in service. Do the math and it comes out to roughly 1,034 bar, or 103.4 MPa. Proof and burst pressures aren't scaled from the service rating; they're multiples of the working pressure set by whichever design standard applies. A 15,000 psi working pressure also shouldn't be confused with an ASME pressure class, such as ASME Class 1500. That's a flange or valve designation, and it shifts with material and temperature rather than mapping to a fixed psi figure. High-Pressure Fittings for 15,000 PSI: Cone-and-Thread, 37° Flare & Compression

Crestflo offers two fitting families rated to reach this tier without modification. Cone-and-thread fittings in high-tensile stainless carry a working pressure up to 30,000 PSI, which leaves plenty of margin over 15,000 psi service. Built to ISO 8434-2, the 37° flare fittings are rated up to 15,000 PSI and up to 350°C; they come in sizes up to 2" OD, are NACE-compliant, and pair with compression fittings within the same system. Then there are compression tube fittings, single and double ferrule, sized up to 2" (50 mm) OD and qualified per ASTM F1387. Their allowable service pressure isn't fixed. It tracks the tube's OD, wall thickness and alloy against standard tube working-pressure tables, with values set by the applicable standard and adjustable to the customer's requirement. Not hydraulic hose couplings. These are instrumentation fittings for tubing and process lines.
